P.O. Box 884 Harwich, MA 02645 (425) 795-8518 RE: 2/21/00 PADGETT CASE UPDATE Since Tom Padgett was ordered to released from the incarceration on September 12th, the following occurrences have been reported: 1. The Hopkins County Jail released Tom onto the streets at approx. 7:00 PM (six hours after court-ordered) in a bright orange prison jumpsuit with "Christian Co. Jail" in bold black letters on the back and "prisoner" in bold letters running vertically down each leg. He had no wallet or any form of identification on him as all his belongings were still at the state inmate facility 40 miles away in Hopkinsville including his street clothes. He had no money on him. The Hopkins Co. authorities refused to give him a ride back. HE had to sneak his way through the dark alleys to get to a pay phone to call for help as not to be seen as an "escaped prisoner" on the lamb. More court sanctioned legal harassment from Judge Boteler's little town! 2. Tom stayed in Madisonville, Kentucky for a week after his release in the hopes of getting to visit with his son Beau. His scientologist mother still very much into the Hubbard "disconnect" theory re: alleged declared SP's made it impossible through various devious tactics and ploys. Tom has only seen his son 2 hours in the past 19 months. Today is Beau Padgett's 16th birthday, and Tom is asking his family and friends to email him at: hobobeau@hotmail.com and wish him a happy birthday and tell him "Dad loves you so much buddy!" without getting into the Co$ problems with his mom (at least for now!) 3. While at the motel for the past week, Tom got two phone calls from a woman asking if "he wanted some company!!?? First time the name was Theresa and the second time it was Lisa, however Tom reports it was the same voice both times. She said she could be there in 5 minutes. Each time when Tom asked "What kind of company?" she hesitated stuttered and hung up. He needed moral support. Her interests appeared to be that of a prostitute - another probable set-up by local authorities to get Tom back behind bars where Scientologists like Frank Ofman and Laura Padgett want for him to be…. For good! 4. Tom received a letter on September 20th, from Scientologist Laura Padgett's civil attorney William Witledge, indicating that he and his client were rejecting pre-payment of child support and were threatening a new criminal indictment before a grand jury in her local hometown for failure to pay for child support in August and September while he was in prison! A local mediator went ahead and set up the pre-payment plan with a local bank in spite of this new twist from Laura Padgett not wanting money but wanting more litigation. Legal harassment of Tom Padgett is not over by any means, and family "disconnection" still continues between a parent and minor child per LRH. End.
