Tom Padgett's Child Custody CasePadgett Litigation Update 15From: cultabuse@webtv.net (The Truth) Newsgroups: alt.religion.scientology Subject: PADGETT LITIGATION UPDATE 15 (re-post from 2/26/00) Date: Sun, 28 May 2000 10:09:14 -0400 (EDT) Message-ID: <11283-3931288A-18@storefull-213.iap.bryant.webtv.net> Attorney John F. Padgett of Orleans, MA mailed two (2) copies of "A PIECE OF BLUE SKIES -- Scientology, Dianetics, and L. Ron Hubbard Exposed" to the Madisonville, Kentucky Public Library on January 25, 2000. Included with these treasured books, was a warning that they might get stolen or simply disappear from the library shelves without a trace, and for the librarians to keep them behind the counter for I.D. checks and security deposits to be required. The reason for this donation of books, is that in that town is the Hopkins Circuit Court, the litigation battlefield of Co$ adherent Laura Padgett against her ex-member former husband (2D in Hubbard techno-speak,) Tom Padgett. In the past 7 plus years of civil litigation, which 2 years ago migrated into a criminal (set-up) indictment against Tom, the only book legal pundits in that Western Kentucky hamlet could come up with in matters of religion and Scientology was the John Locke reader and his essays on "Tolerance." Attorney Padgett wanted that community to have more updated information on the sect in question from a 20th Century British writer (Jon Atack,) as opposed to just relying on 17th Century British writer Locke for judicial wisdom in that venue. A press release was faxed to the local newspaper, The Madisonville Messenger, announcing the availability of these books to the public in Hopkins County since in Padgett vs. Padgett case law is the first in the world to condone and grant tacit approval of Hubbard's "CHILD DIANETICS -- Processing of Children" over standard accepted studies in child psychology and child psychiatry. If any ARSers are interested in following up with the newspaper on this story in support of the father's contention that the cult is a lethal and dangerous entity, here are the addresses: letters@the-messenger.com or the Managing Editor Mr. Brian LaMar at: brianlamar@the-messenger.com The Madisonville Messenger 221 South Main Street Box 529 Madisonville, KY 42431-0529 Phone # (270) 824-3300 fax # (270) 825-3733 And in the interest of equal 1st Amendment rights, we are sure the paper would like to hear from those in support of the Scientologist mother, that claims her ex is an SP and soon to be convicted felon thusly eligible for a warm spot on the www.parishioners.org page! ----------------------------------------------------------- Alliance for Better Understanding of Scientology Ethics (A.B.U.S.E.) link to: http://www.b-org.demon.nl/scn/deaths/childabuse.html |
