MOTION IN LIMINE FILED February 7, 2001

On the same day Tom Cruise filed a petition for dissolution of
marriage against his wife Nicole Kidman in Los Angeles, Scientologist
Laura Vannoy Padgett filed a Motion in Limine to restrict evidence and
gag the testimony from expert witnesses being flown from around North
America for a critical 2 day hearing scheduled for February 23rd and
26th. Pending in the Western Kentucky circuit court are matters to
"UNdisconnect" the minor child from his declared SP father Tom
Padgett, adjust and modify child support according to statutes, and to
award costs and fees. This motion to suppress, comes one day after a
huge loss for the scientologists in Chicago in the Bunker case.

Vannoy's lawyer Bill Whitledge noted in unsupported arguments that
the following should be prohibited from the proceedings and records:
     1. Any testimony relating to the health, mental or physical
condition of the parties or the minor child.
     2. Any evidence concerning Scientology or any matters re: religion
        in general.
     3. No testimony of the Petitioner's or Respondent's character.
     4. No testimony on alternative solutions to settlement of the
issues, i.e. arbitration, mediation, or counselling.
     5. No testimony about division of property or
        breakdown of the marriage.
     6. No testimony which goes to custody of the minor child.

In summarizing the Motion in Limine, Whitledge asserts his client's
request for the exclusion of evidence is appropriate in the Court's
consideration of issues pending, of which in part the Kentucky Court of
Appeals just ruled the trial court committed error for not including
"finality" language. Laura Vannoy Padgett does not want any
final resolution in any matters. Child psychologists state this does
NOT go to the best interests of the children involved to prevent closure
- rather than keeping the litigation going and the mountains of paper
flowing with no end in sight.

Experts from the Wellspring Resource Center, a cult research and
counselling facility in Ohio, say this case reeks of Kendrick Moxon
style strategies and input to foil routine discovery and disclosure as
well as to usurp usual and reasonable due process of law.
Tom Padgett will file a response motion to strike and asking the court
to hold sanctions against the Petitioner and her attorney for
obstruction of justice and protracting vexatious litigation ploys - an
L. Ron Hubbard doctrine alleged to be a "technology."

In the meantime, the expert and material witnesses scheduled to fly
in for the hearing are left in the lurch until further rulings are made.
This motion is docketed for 9am Wednesday,
February 14, 2001. Happy Valentines Day?!

End.

"children are at the greatest risk from Scientology!"

"Thank you for your very detailed letter regarding scientology. We
haven't yet found a way to attack these jackals who feed on children and
young adults who are too emotionally weak to stand by themselves when
they reach the age of consent."
