The following was faxed to FACTnet in Boulder, CO. in January of 1998.

AFFIDAVIT

I bear witness to the various assorted forms of harassment of Tom
Padgett by agents of his ex-wife Laura Padgett of [and] the Sceintology
sect of which Mr. Padgett is a former member and defector.

I witnessed first hand harassment by Betty Vannoy, the mother of Laura
Padgett in July 1995.  I was a witness to the suspicious burlary of Mr.
Padgett's home in Orlando, FL on May 1, 1996, with strong evidence of
Scientology markings and motives.  I was a witness to phone harassment
of Mr. Padgett on March 3, 1997 by a purported St. Petersburg Times
reporter re: Scientology proven to be erroneous and anonymous.  I
personally met with P.I. Richard Thompson who linked Laura Padgett's
Kentucky lawyer with the Scientology headquarters.  I met with the
Orange County Sheriff's Dept. deputy and a Clearwater Police
detective assisting in the investigations of harassment of Mr. Padgett.
I have met a former employee of Mr. Padgett's who swears she was offered
a $5000 bribe at her place of work by an anonymous male, for her to stay
away from Mr. Padgett and his children.  I spoke with the principal of
Preston & Assocs whose professional evaluation concluded authoritative
intervention was needed to stop unfriendly cultic attacks of Mr. Padgett
at his places of work.

Mr. Padgett is definitely a victim of harassment and attacks from his
ex-wife and the suspicious
scientology cult.  This statement is made without any reasonable doubt.
